Alright, so this is how we're planning to do this for the first time:
1. People are going to volunteer for certain parts of the song (chord progression, bass, drums etc.)
2. People will then begin to form their parts of the song
3. WIP's will be posted so people can see what eachother have been working on
4. Once Chord progression is finalized that will be posted for the next person to add onto it
5. The file will be passed around until everyone that volunteered has added their part
6. The son will be posted on soundcloud as "Sound Of Life Community- (Project name)"
and everyone that contributed will have their name below in the comment section
7. We will be awesome
We have no deadline set in stone, we want people to have time to work on this with their busy schedule.

Ok so that's the basic plan, if you think there's a better way to do this please let me know! You also have the option of using Ohm studio (link to website) to collaborate with people on certain parts. Its free and allows you to upload all your plugins and make music together on the same project. So you can see what eachother is doing if you have different DAW's but wanted to work together. Not neccesary for this project though.
To Claim your spot go to the forum and put down what you want to do!(first come first serve rules, though you can ask the person to collaborate with them on that part!)
Everyone can be a part of this and add their own stuff so the main people creating like the chord progression or bassline, please be mindful and possibly leave gaps for others to fill in.
I have the MIDI chords up there for download. Just basic chords, it will be a 4 chord progression. the 5th chord you see in the MIDI would be for a bridge or build or something. Although it can be changed.
These chords are used in the song "Ulysses" by Josh Garrels. Should you want to add vocal chops or the vocals themselves into the song, I have two versions (Live and from the cd) that you could work with to extract the vocals. Just let me know and I can send them to you.
You can post your WIP's onto the sound of life soundcloud group (here) or if you wanted to completely make your own project based on all this you can even post that there too, it would give us ideas and all that jazz. I can only make one group so it will be a little mixed. If you want to make a group so things won't get jumbled together let me know so I can lead them there!
If you want to communicate with everyone I would suggest using the forum page on here, or emails, or just commenting on the songs.
